Tank Coatings - Exterior Coatings

System 4™ (Bolted only)
The very best exterior coating for bolted tanks. Columbian TecTank's premium system combines the long-term corrosion protection of an inorganic zinc primer with the extended color and gloss retention of an acrylic urethane topcoat. Longer life and offshore protection are provided by two intermediate coats of epoxy. System 4™ is the ultimate in exterior coating systems.

System 3™ (Welded only)
The equivalent of System 4 for welded silos, System 3 combines the long-term corrosion protection of the inorganic zinc primer with an epoxy intermediate coat and an acrylic urethane topcoat. The ultimate i welded tank exterior systems, System 3™ provides offshore protection and extended color and gloss retention.

Acrylic Baking Enamels
These thermosetting acrylics provide excellent weathering, color and gloss retention characteristics, even in industrial environments. Utilizing an automotive type coating resin, acrylic baking enamels provide years of dependable service.

Acrylic Urethane
The best Columbian TecTank topcoat, acrylic urethane retains its gloss and color even in severely corrosive and marine environments. This tough, two-component aliphatic acrylic urethane enamel resists corrosion and abrasion. Acrylic urethanes can provide more than double the life expectancy of conventional finishes.

Inorganic Zinc Primer
The base coat for Columbian TecTank System 4, inorganic zinc primer provides unequaled protection from coastal and marine exposures. It is resistant to fumes and spillage of alcohols, petroleum products and salt water. It may be used alone or with a topcoat for improved appearance and performance in alkaline or acidic environments.

Polyamide Epoxy Primer
This light gray, two-component polyamide primer provides true epoxy performance with good resistance to chemical vapors, splash and spillage. Rust inhibitive, it provides excellent environmental protection. This epoxy primer is suitable for factory and field topcoating.

Red Oxide Primer/Aluminum Topcoat (bolted only)
Red oxide primer is a rust inhibitive, lead and chromate free alkyd primer which can be topcoated with a leafing type aluminum paint. This exterior coating system offers minimal corrosion protection.
